Here’s what a cantus is:

A cantus is a very traditional Dutch sing-a-long.  The Exchange Student Network hosted it.  They took out a club and we sat on benches at long rows of tables. Each seat had a cup and a songbook. The songbook had the rules of the Cantus (as described in the Wikipedia article) and all the songs we’d be singing.  The songs they chose included: Oasis, Blink 182, Sweet Home Alabama, Leavin’ on a Jet Plane, Spice Girls, Summer of ’69 (essentially fun songs to sing along to and that most people know the worlds to).

With entrance into the Cantus it was all-you-can-drink, which turned the whole thing into a very drunk affair.
Overall it was a ton of fun and I really want to bring it back to the ‘states.
